Dear Parent/Guardian and Students,
Applications forthe academies are at present open! The mission of the JTHS Academies is to provide select students an alternative, but progressive and elite high school feel. Students who nourish the JTHS Academies volition engage in an honors-level theme-based curriculum, and motion through the program in a cohort with their course level.
The JTHS Business and Finance Academy students volition participate in unique and authentic learning experiences including, but not limited to, Stock Market Challenge, Profession Shadowing, Student-run Credit Union, Schoolhouse Shop, Volunteering, Industry Work, Euro Challenge, Career Day, QuickBooks Certification, Public Speaking and participating in DECA. Additionally, students will not only enroll in honors-level courses but start Junior year, they will be eligible to have the following courses and receive up to 21 credits from Fairleigh Dickinson University. These courses include Sports and Entertainment Honors, AP Economic science, Advertising and Promotion Honors, Entrepreneurship Honors, Business Law Honors, International Business concern Honors, and Marketing 2 Honors.
The JTHS STEM Academy students volition participate in unique and authentic learning experiences including, but non limited to, CAD Honors, Robotic Applied science, Pre-Calculus Honors, Chemistry Honors, Engineering science 1 & two Honors, AP Physics, and AP Information science A. The program will conclude with a Scientific Research Capstone Experience where during their senior yr, students will apply the knowledge and skills acquired from the get-go three years in the University to the completion of the patent process. Beginning Junior year, they will be eligible to receive up to 24 credits from Fairleigh Dickinson Academy for the following courses, Honors Pre-Calculus/AP Calculus AB/BC, Academy AP Physics 1, Engineering 2 Honors, AP Calculus AB/BC, AP Physics two, AP Calculator Science A, and Scientific Enquiry/Capstone i & 2.
The JTHS Multimedia Broadcasting and Journalism Academy students will participate in unique and accurate learning experiences including, but non limited to, Tv & Radio Broadcasting, Podcasting, TED Talks, Sports & Entertainment Journalism Reporting, Public Speaking, Social Media Marketing, Blogging, and Graphic Blueprint Editing. Additionally, students will not but enroll in honors-level Circulate Journalism specific courses but beginning Junior year, they will be eligible to take the following courses and receive up to 24 credits from Fairleigh Dickinson Academy. These courses include English eleven Honors, English 12 Honors, US History II Honors, Avant-garde Sports & Entertainment Journalism Honors, Video Product III Honors, Advanced Communications Honors, Digital Editing and Design Honors, and Contemporary Media Honors.
